On a warm June evening in Georgetown, the Latino Executive Network (LEN) did something it rarely does: it opened its doors.
For this year's Summer Soirée, members were encouraged to bring guests, welcoming a select group of prospective members into the room. The gathering brought together nearly 40 leaders from across the DMV, representing business, government, entrepreneurship, nonprofits, and the diplomatic community, with roots spanning Latin America and Spain.
"What makes LEN special is not just the caliber of its members, but their willingness to invest in one another," said Mario Ramos, CEO of LEN . "Opening the door to future members helps strengthen the relationships that drive our collective success."
The evening also marked the introduction of Diego Mariscal as LEN's newest Board member. As Founder and CEO of 2Gether-International, Mariscal has supported more than 1,000 entrepreneurs with disabilities across more than 30 countries, helping build one of the world's leading accelerators focused on disability inclusion and economic opportunity.
Joining the evening's distinguished guests was Honduran Consul General Guillermo Matuty, whose presence reflected the growing connections between LEN and the broader Latino diplomatic and business communities.
Hosted at Susheria, the event featured sushi, specialty cocktails, including a crowd-favorite pisco sour, and conversations that quickly extended beyond introductions.
Throughout the evening, familiar faces reconnected while new introductions sparked discussions about business, public service, entrepreneurship, and community leadership. Groups formed and reformed throughout the night as attendees exchanged ideas, explored opportunities, and discovered unexpected connections.
As conversations stretched well into the evening, the Summer Soirée served as a reminder that when Latino leaders come together, connections deepen, ideas emerge, and opportunities follow.
For one evening, the circle widened, and a select group of guests experienced something that is usually reserved for members.
